Bardon – Local facts

Bardon is a largely residential suburb only 5 km from the Brisbane CBD, with nearly 90% of the suburb consists of standalone houses of separate lots. Nestled in the foothill of Mount Cootha, it is a suburb with ridges and gullies, providing the vegetation and moist micro-climates much loved by pests, particularly termites!

Although an old Brisbane suburb, it has always been a residential area. Up until 1925, it was know as Upper Paddington, when it was re-named Bardon after “Bardon” villa which was built by Joshua Jeays in 1963.
